What is happening at Christ Church and beyond
Home Communion: If you, or anyone you know is unable to attend church and would like to receive Home Communion, please contact Vikki Thomas (vicarspa@ccbedford.org) to arrange for someone to visit.
St Albans Diocese Ministry Experience Scheme: This scheme is an opportunity for those aged 18-29 to spend a year growing in ministry and leadership skills through church placements, training and mentoring. You can experience church ministry in its widest sense or focus on ministry with children and young people (Future Youth strand). Christ Church is hoping to offer placements this coming September (other churches are available!) There are information leaflets available in the Hub or see the link from our website here
Craft Group: Thursdays 10am-Noon in Room 7. Spend time together chilling, chatting and creating crafts.
Church Walk: On Sunday 3rd May meet at church at 2.30pm for a local walk. Then return to church for refreshments in The Hub.

Go4Gold Soup and Social: Friday 8th May @ 12.45pm. There will be a choice of soups, bread rolls, cheese, yoghurts and fruit for a suggested donation of £2pp. This will be followed by a social in the Hub from 2-3.15pm (suggested donation £1pp). No booking is needed, you are welcome, just turn up to one or both events.

Please be thinking about what plants you can bring to sell. The sale will be from 11am-12.30pm in Christ Church gardens.

Drawing Workshops: On Bank Holiday Monday 25th May we are blessed to welcome New York artist John Platt to Christ Church. He will run 2 drawing workshops: from 10.15-11.45 for children (£30) and from 2-5pm for adults (£50, includes cream tea) or join us at 4pm for a cream tea (£20) and to hear about John’s summer project How to Draw a Lion including his visits to the Home of Hope. All funds raised will buy much needed desks for classrooms at the Home of Hope. For more details contact Gillian Lindley.
Day trip to Ely: We are planning a day trip by coach on Tuesday 9th June. Leave Christ Church at 9am and return by 8pm. Cost £48pp to include: coach travel, guided tour of Cathedral, visit to Oliver Cromwell House or Ely Museum. Optional lunch at The Armory (£19pp). Booking forms are available in the hub/here. HopeWorks are recruiting for an ESOL Early Years Practitioner Session Leader (Level 3)
The Early Years Session Lead holds responsibility for leading sessions in our trauma-informed Early Years setting. They do not hold line management responsibility for other practitioners however supervise a small team of L2 practitioners during the sessions.
The Early Years Session Lead is part of the EY Leadership Team, which meet together online on a Weds 15:00-16:00. In addition the EY Session Lead works in our EY setting in Bedford on a Friday alongside the EY Session Lead (Bedford) and the Senior Early Years Practitioner who holds line management responsibility for the EY team.
