What is happening at Christ Church and beyond
Home Communion: If you, or anyone you know is unable to attend church and would like to receive Home Communion, please contact Vikki Thomas (vicarspa@ccbedford.org) to arrange for someone to visit.
Church Walk: Sunday 16th August Meet in the Hub at 1pm as Fynnius Fogg are playing at the Bedford Bandstand in Mill Meadows from 2-5pm. They will be playing “Happy 60s and 70s pop music”. The plan is to arrive early at the bandstand. Bring a packed lunch if you wish. Bring a deck chair if you would like and it can be taken by car to the Embankment/Band Stand. Ice Cream van is available for refreshments so do bring some cash or your card
Monday Social: From 10am-12 Noon on Mondays, starting 27th July. If anyone has free space and time, an arrangement has been made with the Tennis Club on Goldington Road MK40 3EA (opposite Christ Church) to host a place for people to meet up, socialise, have a coffee/snack and spend some time getting to know others. Meet in their café - if you would like to join in just come along.
Craft Group: Thursdays 10am-Noon. Interested in sewing or a craft? Bring something with you and join us in room 7 for an informal time of crafting and getting to know others with similar interests.
Go4Gold Film Club: Friday 21st August @ 1.45pm. Refreshments (popcorn & ice cream) included. Just turn up if you are free & come & watch a Christian film with others. (Suggested donation £1 to cover refreshment costs).
Men’s Breakfast: Saturday 22nd August 9-10.30am at Christ Church. Numerous breakfast options available with perhaps the most popular being the egg and/or bacon and/or sausage bap plus tea/coffee etc. Also available are cereal, croissants, toast, jam, orange juice, etc. If you are vegetarian and would prefer a veggie option instead please let me know (mens.breakfast@ccbedford.org). All for the bargain price of £3 (free on first visit). No need to sign up, just turn up on the day as we would love to see you. We shall continue with looking at the book of James. This is a valuable time to build up friendships and develop support networks. We hope you can join us.
Bike ‘n Hike: Saturday 12th September, an opportunity to get sponsored to visit churches on foot, by bike, or by car, and raise money for the Beds and Herts Historic Churches Trust and Christ Church (50/50 split). More details now available from the church office.
Installation of the new Bishop of St Albans: Saturday 19th September at 2pm in St Albans Cathedral. General tickets for this special service are now available to book via the Cathedral website. While there is no charge, capacity is limited and tickets are required (limited to 2 per household).

Licensing of Readers: Vikki Thomas will be licensed as Reader on Sunday 27th September at 4pm in St Albans Cathedral. If you would like to attend this service please let Sue Marshall know.
The Bereavement Journey: Grief is hard. The death of someone close to us can impact all of life. The Bereavement Journey provides a safe place to process loss with the support of others and will run this and will run this autumn starting on 28th September between 7pm and 9pm.
